A series of album covers for Command Records by noted abstractionist and educator Josef Albers, born this week in 1888. A few years ago Brooklyn’s Minus Space gallery hosted an exhibit of all seven commercial record jackets created by Albers.
By sheer coincidence Albers’ entire set of designs connects directly with this weekend’s WCFSO program, which features Joseph Schwantner’s very persuasive 1995 percussion concerto and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
